Milk Away and designer Elvis Pompilio join forces for a 100% Belgian and ethical collaboration.

Aurélie Nickmans, creator of the very first Belgian premium nursing wear brand MILK AWAY, and Elvis Pompilio, a talented and internationally renowned Belgian milliner and hatmaker, are teaming up for the coolest collaboration in the Kingdom: cute and stylish convertible caps for newborns and babies.

An eco-responsible production with zero waste

At the origin of this collaboration, a common desire: to create unique and exclusive pieces from quality fabrics but always with an eco-responsible, zero waste, and social approach that is important in the eyes of both creators. 

This is why all MILK AWAY X ELVIS POMPILIO designs are made to order. request based on the fabrics of the prototypes of the nursing clothes. “ Before arriving at the perfect model ready to be marketed, I had many prototypes made. After the launch of MILK AWAY, a year ago, I wondered what I was going to do with all these meters of high quality fabric (GOTS and OEKO-TEX certified cotton). I couldn't imagine throwing them away. And that's when the idea of ​​calling on the talent of Elvis came about! ” explains Aurélie Nickmans. 

And it's true that the milliner immediately embraced the project. While many are familiar with his incredible creations that have brought him success, particularly among celebrities and royal families, few know that he adores children and that he began his career designing caps. The combination was therefore perfect! 

3 unique handmade models by Elvis Pompilio

Eco-responsible production means limited stock. The caps will be made to order by the headwear master, depending on the remaining stock of MILK AWAY prototypes. Each cap will therefore be a completely unique piece. 

The 3 models designed are intended to evolve over time to suit both newborns and babies (up to about 18 months) thanks to an innovative knot closure at the back of the head.

- The first model (khaki) has small ears and a classic cap visor.

- The second model (khaki and grey) has a classic cap visor.

- The third model (grey) has a round visor that goes on either side of the ears.

Each MILK AWAY X ELVIS POMPILIO cap will be sold for €250. All profits will be donated to a Belgian association that supports foster families. " My sister-in-law is a foster parent. It's a relatively unknown cause that resonates with me personally. I find it very beautiful and courageous, and I want to support an association that makes it possible, " explains Aurélie Nickmans.
